科技日新月異，對企業影響亦愈大。最新研究「The Digital Dividend: First-Mover Advantage」顯示，企業愈早採用新科技，業務表現愈突出。 研究共訪問672名來自世界各地的商界及科技界領袖，就5大科技，包括移動裝置、社交媒體、雲端運算、先進分析技術，及M2M（機器對機器）通訊的影響作出調查。 73%受訪者 使用雲端運算 研究顯示，57%的受訪者認為，資訊科技是種能帶動革新及促進業務增長的投資。受訪者都不約而同，大量應用不同科技產品，如73%受訪者表示正使用雲端運算、61%廣泛使用流動數據、83%正運用社交媒體及協作工具作商業用途、20%有使用機器對機器的通訊。 不過，企業要獲得顯著增長，只懂採用並不足夠，成為資訊科技「先驅」才有機會突圍而出。研究將受訪者對科技的接受程度劃分為3類：資訊科技「先驅」（34%）、「追隨者」（35%）及「謹慎」消費者（30%）。 結果顯示，資訊科技「先驅」的企業有較大機會在收益增長及市場地位兩方面領先同業。20%的資訊科技「先驅」錄得逾30%的收益增長，其增幅是「追隨者」的兩倍多、「謹慎」者的3倍。「追隨者」公司只觀察市況，待新科技的成效得到證實後，方會投資使用。「謹慎」者則是待新科技發展成熟後才考慮採用的「謹慎」科技應用公司。 跨部門合作 起關鍵作用 此外，跨部門合作對公司營運起關鍵作用。報告指出，25%的受訪者稱自己曾「積極參與」，48%則表示自己為「略有參與」。當中42%為行政人員、30%為高級經理、14%為其他職級的經理，只有少於10%受訪者是從事資訊科技部門。 數據顯示，資訊科技已完全融入整體商業環境。若企業仍堅持將資訊科技抽離公司業務，或各部門只按職能閉門造車，都會對公司業務極為不利。研究及特別項目編輯表示：「企業須致力運用科技以建構新程序及業務模式，這樣新科技才可帶來實際的競爭優勢。此外，企業亦須更靈活地應用科技，並將創新精神融入公司文化，從而體現真正的商業價值。
